Two children didn't make it out of their burning rural Frankfort house early Friday.
Rossville firefighters received a dispatch at 2:26 a.m. Friday to 2076 W. Clinton County Road 700 North when a resident called 911, Clinton County Dispatch Supervisor Renee Crick said. Other fire departments also were dispatched for mutual aid for Rossville firefighters.
Fire crews arriving at the single-story house southeast of Rossville found heavy fire coming from the home, Rossville Fire Chief Aron Fise said.
The parents and an infant made it out of the burning house, but two other children died inside, Fise said.
Autopsies on the two children who died are scheduled for Saturday morning, Clinton County Coroner Ed Cripe said late Friday morning. He'll release more information after the procedure.
Fise said the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Indiana State Fire Marshal's office.
