2 Colorado hot springs named as some of the best in the nation

DENVER (KDVR) — The winter cold isn’t over yet. Luckily, Colorado is home to two of the best hot springs in the United States.

Places to Travel named 17 of the best hot springs around the U.S. Some of the spots are spas, while others are natural and can be found on hikes.

While the Colorado locations take a few hours to drive to, you won’t have to walk far to reach them.

Strawberry Park Hot Springs

In Steamboat Springs lies many neighboring hot springs that are open year-round. The pools at Strawberry Hot Springs are manmade, but the heat comes naturally. The pools are regulated with cold water, and each pool has a different temperature.

The list praises the hot spring for its mineral-rich waters and its nearby cabins.

The pools are open from the early morning to late night hours. It’s kid-friendly, except after dark when the pools become clothing optional.

Pagosa Hot Springs

The town of Pagosa has multiple attractions where you can soak in the natural hot spring water. The Mother Spring aquifer has been Guinness World Record Certified as “The World’s Deepest” geothermal hot spring aquifer at over 1,002 feet deep.

The Springs Resort, The Overlook Hot Springs, and Healing Waters Resort and Spa each have pools you can soak in while taking in the view. The review specifically mentions the backdrop of the San Juan Mountains.

This isn’t the first time these hot springs have made a list. Strawberry Hot Springs was ranked fifth in the country by USA Today. The site also named The Springs Resort and Spa as the best spa in the country.
