2-day-old baby and teen missing from Mississippi town are found safe, officials say

UPDATE: As of about 12:30 p.m. Central time, officials said the baby and teen were found safe. The endangered/missing child alert has been canceled.

ORIGINAL STORY: A 2-day-old baby and a teen girl disappeared overnight from a Mississippi town, officials said.

An endangered/missing child alert was issued for the two, who reportedly were last seen at about 6 p.m. on Monday, June 27.

The search continued the next morning for newborn boy Kyron Legend Kirk and 17-year-old Angela Gail Kirk. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation in a Facebook post didn’t say if or how the two were related.

The two are residents of Horn Lake, where they reportedly were last spotted along Goodman Road. The area is roughly 15 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee.

At the time he vanished, officials said Kyron was “wearing a blue baby cap, a white onesie with multi-colored stars, and white socks.”

Angela, described as being about 5 feet 5 inches and weighing 115 pounds, “was last seen wearing a pink sleeveless shirt and green and black pajama pants.” The teen has green hair and brown eyes, according to investigators.

Anyone with information about the disappearance is urged to call Horn Lake police at 662-393-6174.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation didn’t immediately share additional information with McClatchy News on June 28.
