2 dead, 1 wounded in separate shootings overnight Christmas, police say

Two people are dead, and at least one person was seriously wounded overnight Friday, Chicago police said.

The latest fatal shooting happened shortly before 9:25 p.m. Friday in the Gage Park neighborhood in the 3300 block of West 52nd Street. Officers responded to ShotSpotters technology and found a 20-year-old man outside with multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen and chest.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

About an hour earlier, another man was fatally wounded in the East Chatham neighborhood in the 900 block of East 82nd Street.

The unidentified man was discovered lying unresponsive on the south side of the street, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he had suffered gunshot shot wounds to the body.

Two people were arrested after a 27-year-old man was shot after during an argument with one of the people in custody, police said.

Shortly before 8:15 p.m. Friday, the victim got himself to Swedish Covenant Hospital after being shot during an argument in the 4000 block of North Pulaski Road, police said.

The man had suffered multiple wounds to his body, and was listed in serious condition.

Two individuals were placed in police custody, and charges were pending.
