2 dead, 3 in hospital after single-vehicle crash on US-301
The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single-vehicle crash that happened on US-301 southbound at NW 246th Street, which led to two fatalities and three hospitalizations.
According to the initial report, the vehicle involved in the accident was traveling south on US-301 when it left the roadway to the right for unknown reasons. The car then went into the ditch before becoming airborne, passing through a small field, and finally landing on NW 246th Street.
After landing on the road, the vehicle overturned and ultimately came to a halt against a building located on NW 246th Street.
Of the five passengers in the vehicle involved in the accident, the 40-year-old driver and a 3-year-old lost their lives at the scene, while the remaining three individuals, aged 10, 7, and 5, were admitted to a medical facility with serious injuries.
The collision led to lane blockages, which caused significant traffic delays in the surrounding area.
Further details regarding the cause of the crash and the identities of those involved have not yet been released, and an investigation is ongoing.
