As is the case in police-involved shootings, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the incident.
- Authorities are investigating a police-involved shooting that left two people dead in Northeast Miami-Dade. Officers say they were responding to a domestic-related incident yesterday at Northeast 143rd Street and 114-- or 14th Avenue. We're told a person inside that home and police officers exchanged gunfire, and then that suspect barricaded himself inside the home.
And when officers entered, they found a 26-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman with fatal gunshot wounds. No officers were shot, but one was taken to hospital with a knee injury. Authorities are still investigating what led to the deaths.
