Cleveland supermarket shooting that killed 2 being investigated as murder-suicide

Two people are dead after a shooting at a Cleveland area supermarket Sunday morning.

Shortly before 10 a.m. reports of a shooting came in at the Giant Eagle located on Lorain Road, according to our news partners at WOIO.

Police confirmed a Giant Eagle employee, 63-year-old Susan Petterson, of Olmsted Township, was found shot dead alongside 60-year-old Bernard Smith, of Cleveland.

Police also said both were married at one point in time and had been separated.

North Olmsted Police Chief Bob Wagner told WOIO police are investigating this as a murder-suicide.
