2 dead after weekend crash on I-25 south of Pueblo

Two people died Saturday after a crash on Interstate 25 about 7 miles south of Pueblo.

A 2006 Ford motorhome being driven southbound on I-25 traveled off of the east edge of the road and then the west edge of the interstate, colliding with a fence and then a power pole, according to Colorado State Patrol. The motorhome reportedly overturned, coming to rest on its roof.

Both the 64-year-old female driver and the 75-year-old male passenger died as aresult of the crash. Neither had been identified by midday Monday.

A tire blowout is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash, according to a statement from the state patrol.

Southbound traffic on I-25 south of Pueblo was temporarily diverted as the roadway was shut down for a brief period of time, according to state patrol.
