2 Dearborn Schools To Host Free COVID Vaccine Clinics In February

DEARBORN, MI — Dearborn school officials said Friday two more free COVID-19 vaccination clinics will open in February.

Haigh Elementary, located at 601 N. Silvery Lane, will offer vaccinations on Feb. 2 and Feb. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m., and Smith Middle School, located at 23851 Yale St., will hold clinics on Feb. 3 and Feb. 24 from 3 to 7 p.m.

School officials encouraged anyone who is planning to attend to register here, in which they will also receive an extra incentive.

C-ASSIST is partnering with the schools to provide the vaccinations, which will also include Pfizer and Moderna booster shots and flu shots. All the vaccinations are free and health professionals will be on hand to answer questions.

The clinics will also be giving away gift cards.

In January, the CDC expanded who was eligible for COVID-19 booster shots. Now, a person only needs to wait five months after their second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine to get a booster and anyone over the age of 12 is eligible for a COVID booster. Those younger than 18 are only able to receive the Pfizer vaccine at this time.
