WASKOM, Texas (KETK) – Two East Texas schools in Harrison County are releasing early on Tuesday due to flooded conditions.

Elysian Fields ISD announced they made the decision to release students at 11:30 a.m. due to “rising water and flooding taking place on many roads throughout the district.”

The district said that students who live on Manning Road and Don Long would need to be picked up at school since those roads had become impassible for the buses to safely transport students.

Waskom ISD announced they plan to release students at 1:30 p.m. due to road conditions and said their buses will run and car riders will be released at that time.
