2 New England cities ranked as the best cities to go off the grid

Looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life.

A new study ranks two New England cities as the best cities to go off the grid.

According to a report done by Livability, Phippsburg, Maine and Woodstock, Vermont are on a list of the best cities to go off the grid.

Phippsburg, Maine is about 71 square miles but has a smaller population of just over 2,100 people. This coastal Maine town is a pretty town with a “picturesque wooden boat houses standing atop thick timber stilts plummeting into the Atlantic,” according to Livability.

Depending on the season, this is a place where you hit the boat, eat some lobsters and then watch the sunrise or sunset. This is a great place if you’re looking to get away.

Vermont means green mountain, and Woodstock is a town that encapsulates that name. This colonial-American town has mossy brick buildings, red barns on rolling green hills, and twinkling creeks that running beneath covered carriage bridges. The is the perfect place to put the technology down and take it all in. See where your stroll will take you.

‘Don’t ask Google what you should do, follow your feet, follow street signs, pick up one of those brochures you always see at front desks and cash-wraps but never touch,” Livability said.
