2 former NFL players to attend Southside Baptist Church Super Bowl Sunday events

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – According to Southside Baptist Church, a former Dallas Cowboys Center and a 49ers punter, will be attending their Super Bowl Sunday events on Feb. 11 in Tyler.

Clay Shiver was a center with the Dallas Cowboys and an All American and Chad Stanley was a punter for the San Francisco 49er’s. Shiver and Stanley are set to be special guests during Southside’s event to share their insights and experiences of being in the NFL.

According to the NFL, Stanley attended Stephen F. Austin State University and has seven years of experience while Shiver attended Florida State University for four years.

“Former 49ers punter Chad Stanley will be leading special services tailored for children ages kindergarten through 5th grade, offering them a unique opportunity for learning and fun, including a field goal competition, promising a morning filled with excitement and friendly competition,” Southside Baptist Church said.

The church invites the community and football enthusiasts to join them, starting at 9:15 a.m. with their first worship service, then another at 10:45 a.m. The events are free and open to the community with food, giveaways and activities.

David Doyle, a Southside Baptist pastor, said they are excited to host the Sunday events and hope the community can join them.

Located on 8875 Old Jacksonville Hwy, Southside Baptist Church encourages attendees to wear their favorite jerseys.
