2 hospitalized after car crashes into fast-food restaurant in Phoenix

Two people have been hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning which sent one car into the front of a fast-food restaurant in Phoenix.

Phoenix fire crews responded to the area of 35th Avenue and Camelback Road around 4 a.m. on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, police found one of the vehicles had crashed into a building with another still in the roadway, Phoenix police spokesperson Sgt. Phil Krynsky said.

The driver of the vehicle that ended up inside the restaurant was successfully extracted from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the police statement. The driver of the vehicle located in the roadway was also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Traffic restrictions will be in effect due to a damaged traffic signal, Krynsky said.

No other information had been released.
