2 hospitalized after stabbing in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 16-year-old and an 18-year-old were hospitalized following a stabbing in Fresno, the Fresno Police Department said.

Police say they responded to a physical disturbance call in the area of Echo and University Avenues at 4:40 p.m. The reporting parties stated over eight individuals were seen fighting.

As officers were responding to the call, they said they received multiple updates that two individuals were stabbed as a result of this disturbance. Upon arrival, they located two stabbing victims.

Officers say the victims were a 16-year-old teen and an 18-year-old man. They were transported to the Community Regional Medical Center. They are listed in stable condition.

Investigators say this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. They say these were high school-aged victims.
