2 indicted on charges tied to fatal 2021 shooting at Giliberto's Mexican Taco Shop

Two people have been indicted on charges connected with the fatal shooting of a man at Giliberto's Mexican Taco Shop in November 2021, according to the Sioux Falls Police Department.

Antoine Demetrius Richardson Jr., 30, was indicted Feb. 28 on charges of aggravated assault, possesession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm of a convicted drug offender, department spokesperson Sam Clemens said during a police briefing Monday morning with media.

Isaac Mohammed Wali, 22, was also indicted on July 26, 2022 on several charges of aggravated assault.

Clemens said part of what took the case so long to get to this point is because the Minnehaha County State's Attorney's office had to turn the case over to the South Dakota Attorney General's Office, because of a conflict of interest. Clemens did not disclose the nature of the conflict.
