A two-vehicle crash injured both drivers Tuesday morning in the northbound lanes of U.S. 441 at Paynes Prairie.

According to a news release from Alachua County Fire Rescue, that agency and Micanopy Fire Rescue responded to the crash at 8:50 a.m.

“First arriving units found a two-vehicle accident with one driver heavily entrapped,” the release says. “Units utilized hydraulic rescue tools commonly referred to as the Jaws of Life to free the driver from the heavily damaged vehicle. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to local hospitals for evaluation.”
