2 injured, suspect in custody following shooting at Franklin hotel
FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – A suspect is in custody following a shooting at a Franklin hotel that left two people injured Saturday night, according to police.
Officers with the Franklin Police Department were sent to the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs hotel to respond to an “active shooter” call at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11 in the 700 block of Cool Springs Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers rendered aid to two victims who were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, police said. The extent of their injuries remain unknown.
After the shooting, the suspect allegedly fled the scene. Authorities reported that officers immediately flooded the area and found the suspect on foot in a nearby neighborhood.

The suspect — identified as 29-year-old Cody Wiggins of Florida — was arrested. Officials said Wiggins is the husband and brother-in-law of the two shooting victims.
A detective has reportedly obtained warrants charging Wiggins with two counts of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, aggravated domestic assault, and tampering with evidence.
At the scene, officers told a News 2 crew that the shooting stemmed from an argument that turned violent, which led to the shots being fired. The suspect, as well as the shooting victims, were in Franklin attending a wedding.

Police said the weapon used in the incident was a semi-automatic handgun.
As of Sunday, Nov. 12, Wiggins remains in the Williamson County Jail, according to officials.
