2 Jersey Mike's Subs coming to Vestal: Here's where and what to know

Jersey Mike's Subs, known for its freshly sliced meats and grilled subs, is planning to open two locations on the Vestal Parkway, with the first set to welcome customers next month.

The first location will be in University Plaza in the old Colour Hair Salon storefront, the same stretch of the plaza that features Five Guys and CoreLife Eatery and is a favorite shopping and eating center for Binghamton University students.

Tyler Staub, Jersey Mike’s Area Director, said the location at 4700 Vestal Parkway East is expected to open on Jan. 25.

It will be the second Jersey Mike's in Broome County, joining the sub shop at 1257 Upper Front St., which opened in July in the Town of Chenango.

“Our Binghamton Jersey Mike’s restaurant has received a great reception and we are looking for other sites in the area," Staub said.

Another Vestal Jersey Mike's coming soon

According to Jersey Mike's website, another shop will open at 2450 Vestal Parkway East, which would place it in the stretch of residential houses across from the Town Square Mall.

Town of Vestal Supervisor John Schaffer hinted the location will be located at or near the now-closed Pier One store in the Starbucks and GameStop plaza, which would be 2540 Vestal Parkway East.

Schaffer said that location is waiting on a parking variance and the opening date is unknown, but he said getting the variance won't take long.

The two Vestal locations are among 21 Jersey Mike's preparing to open in New York. There are more than 2,300 locations nationwide.

Jersey Mike's also recently became a sponsor for the Binghamton University athletics department. The shop sponsors the "Bearcats Sensory Room," which is featured in the TAU Clubroom at men's and women's basketball games. The room is open to all children in attendance and is geared toward kids on the autism spectrum.
