2 juveniles injured during single vehicle crash on Friday in Augusta
Nov. 5—Two juveniles were injured Friday afternoon during a single-vehicle crash in Augusta just outside the entrance to the Hatch Hill Solid Waste Facility, according to the Augusta Police Department.
Sgt. Desmond Nutter said at approximately 2 p.m. Friday at the intersection of South Belfast Avenue and Hatch Hill Road, two juveniles were riding in a vehicle when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree. The police department's Facebook page reported South Belfast Avenue was closed around 2:30 p.m., telling people to seek an alternate route.
The occupants suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, Nutter said.
A number of vehicles stopped to assist, which prompted some to conclude a number of vehicles were involved in a crash.
The police department's Facebook page updated that the road reopened again around 4:30 p.m.
The crash is under investigation, police said.
