Two people were killed and another was critically injured in a shooting at a home in the Maryvale neighborhood of Phoenix on Tuesday morning, the Phoenix Police Department said.

A family member called police just after 10 a.m. after entering the home near 59th Avenue and Thomas Road and finding two women and one man with gunshot wounds inside, police spokesperson Sgt. Vincent Cole said.

Investigators were working to determine the relationship between the trio but “do know there is a domestic relationship between them” and that they all lived in the home, Cole said.

The man and one of the women were pronounced dead at the scene, while the other woman was transported to a hospital in critical condition, Cole said.

Police were not searching for anyone else in connection with the shooting, Cole said.

Investigators were working to determine who fired the shots, what type of gun was used and what led up to the shooting, Cole said, adding that a weapon was recovered from the home.

No further details were immediately available. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
