Two people were killed in a plane crash near Kingman Tuesday morning, officials said.

According to the Coconino County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to a call regarding a missing aircraft around 12 p.m. They were advised by the Federal Aviation Administration that a plane had gone off radar north of Seligman, the Sheriff's Office said.

Coconino police said an Arizona Department of Public Safety Air Rescue helicopter was dispatched to aid in the search, due to the weather and remoteness of the area where the plane reportedly went missing.
