2 Massachusetts towns named best coastal small towns in the U.S.

Big city or small town? That is a question that many Americans ask when planning a vacation.

Big cities on the water have their perks, but small towns are more charming, and quiet and have a more hometown feel.

Provincetown and Marblehead were recently named on USA Today’s list of “10 Best Coastal Small Towns in the U.S. for 2023.”

The list was voted on by USA Today’s readers and consists of towns all over the country.

Marblehead came in at No. 3 on the list.

This New England town is just a short drive from Salem and Boston, but feels like a whole different world and has something for everyone.

If you love history, check out Fort Sewall and the Jeremiah Lee Mansion, while nature lovers will be delighted with a kayaking trip to nearby Crowninshield Island. Other places to check out include the independent cinema Warwick Place and the Marblehead Neck Wildlife Sanctuary.
