$2 Mega Millions tickets in North Carolina won top prizes — again. Check your numbers.

Two Mega Millions tickets in North Carolina scored $1 million prizes in Friday’s drawing, lottery officials said Saturday.

A player who plunked down $2 for a ticket at Pikeville Mini Mart on South Goldsboro Street in Pikeville scored one of the prizes, according to a lottery news release.

Pikeville is about 10 miles north of Goldsboro and about 16 miles south of Wilson in eastern North Carolina.

The other winner bought their ticket through Online Play on NCLottery.com, officials said.

Both $2 tickets matched all of the white balls — 29, 40, 47, 50 and 57, according to the lottery.

They beat odds of 1 in 12.6 million, according to the Mega Millions page on the lottery website.

The winners have six months to claim their prizes at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

North Carolina joined four other states with $1 million winners in the drawing. Florida and New Jersey also had two $1 million winning tickets and California and Michigan one each, officials said.

The Mega Millions jackpot increased to $820 million in Tuesday’s drawing, or $422 million if taken in cash. Jackpot odds are 1 in 302.5 million.

On Monday, one of two big Mega Millions winners in North Carolina in the July 14 drawing claimed her $1 million prize at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

Belmont resident Yolunda Shannon won on a $2 Quick Pick ticket at Food Lion on Highland Street in Mount Holly, according to a lottery news release.

The other winning July 14 ticket — bought in Guilford County through Online Play and worth $10,000 to its owner — remains unclaimed.
