Tucson police arrested two men suspected of being involved in an August shooting that killed Elmer Tarazon, 38, in Joaquin Murrieta Park.

Police had found Tarazon with gunshot wounds on the west side of the park before he was transported to a hospital where he died. Tucson police obtained arrest warrants on Sept. 29 for 30-year-old Armando Ruiz-Valencia and 39-year-old Sergio Guillermo Urquidez.

Police did not indicate what led them to Urquidez and Ruiz-Valencia, citing the ongoing investigation.

Police arrested Ruiz-Valencia on Oct. 3 in Nogales while officers arrest Urquidez the following day in Tucson. Both were booked into the Pima County Jail on one count of first-degree murder.

Tucson police are still pursuing other leads and ask anyone with information about the shooting to call 88-CRIME to share the information anonymously.
