GREEN BAY – Two men charged with helping a Green Bay man cover up the murder of an Ashwaubenon man have pleaded guilty and no contest.

In March, a jury found Pedro Santiago-Marquez, 34, guilty of first-degree intentional homicide and mutilating a corpse for the 2021 death of Jason Mendez-Ramos, 36.

In connection to the homicide, Jeisaac Rodriguez-Garcia, 30, was charged with mutilating a corpse, as party to a crime. He pleaded guilty to the charge Monday.

Alexander Burgos-Mojica, 48, was charged with harboring or aiding a felon, and pleaded no contest March 30. He was sentenced to one year in prison followed by 5 years of extended supervision.

Both men worked for Santiago-Marquez, who owned a painting business and towing company that operated out of a shop at 1638 E. Mason St. in Green Bay.

Rodriguez-Garcia testified at Santiago-Marquez's trial. He said on Sept. 27, 2021, that Santiago-Marquez told him to pick up a work van, dispose of "garbage" in the backseat by setting it on fire, then clean the van and park it in Rodriguez-Garcia's garage.

Rodriguez-Garcia claimed he did not know until afterwards that the "garbage" he set on fire near the northwest corner of Cofrin Memorial Arboretum that night was Mendez-Ramos' body.

Israel Ortega, another witness who testified at Santiago-Marquez's trial, said Burgos-Mojica handed him a bag of items to throw away. Included in the bag was Mendez-Ramos' cellphone, a watch and three shell casings.

Rodriguez-Garcia's sentencing is scheduled for 3 p.m. June 9. Santiago-Marquez will be sentenced at 1:15 p.m. May 30.
