2 men die when stolen Texas truck crashes into 2 semis along Kansas highway during chase

Two men died when a police chase ended in a three-vehicle crash in eastern Kansas on Wednesday.

A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper began pursuing a 2004 Ford F150 northbound on U.S. 75 in Coffey County at around 11:25 a.m., Kansas Highway Patrol crash logs show.

It had been reported stolen during an aggravated robbery carjacking in Texas, a KHP news release said.

During the chase, the Ford drove onto the right shoulder to pass a semi and came back onto the northbound lane of U.S. 75. The truck was struck by a semi and continued into the southbound lanes of U.S. 75 where it was struck by another semi, the crash log said.

The driver and passenger of the Ford, 24-year-old Trevell Moore and 20-year-old Gale Wright Jr., both from Omaha, Nebraska, died at the scene, the report said.

The two drivers in the semi trucks involved in the crash were not injured, according to the release.
