2 off-duty firefighters praised for pulling woman from burning car in New Hampshire

Two off-duty firefighters are being lauded for pulling a woman from a burning car in Londonderry, New Hampshire.

New Hampshire State Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash that turned into a car fire on I-93 South at MM 17.2 Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

The female driver was pulled from the burning vehicle by Good Samaritans, including at least 2 off-duty firefighters.

The woman was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

This is the second time in three days that off-duty firefighters jumped into action and helped save occupants from burning vehicles.

Josh Abbott, a firefighter from Chelmsford, and East Kingston Firefighter Robert Bishop, were both off duty when they came across a serious crash in East Kingston on Saturday afternoon.

The two firefighters worked quickly to free the woman from inside the car, which was burning and filling with smoke. The woman was hospitalized in serious condition but was last reported to be in stable condition.
