🌱 2 Officers Shot In Ferguson + History Museum Reopens Next Week

Good day, neighbors! Helen Eckhard here with the latest copy of the St. Louis Daily.

First, today's weather:

Mostly cloudy and not as cold. High: 41 Low: 18.

Here are the top 3 stories in St. Louis today:

  1. Two St. Louis police officers were shot in north St. Louis County on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred near West Florissant Avenue and Northwind Estates Drive in Ferguson, where the officers were attempting to apprehend a possible homicide suspect. The officers were transported to an area hospital and an update on their conditions has not yet been released. (KSDK.com)

  2. The Missouri History Museum announced Wednesday that it plans to reopen in February following temporary closures due to COVID-19. The Museum will open on Feb. 1, and both the Library and Research Center and the Soldiers Memorial Military Museum will open the following day. All visitors ages two and up will still be required to wear masks during their visit to all three sites. (KSDK.com)

  3. New data from wastewater tests in the St. Louis area has shown the first decline of COVID in six weeks. The tests indicate a 36 percent decline in the presence of COVID-19 genetic material, just a week after the viral loads reached near-record levels. However, officials say this new data is not enough to determine whether the Omicron variant of the virus has peaked in the city yet. (fox2now.com)
