A 2-year-old baby died after drowning in a pool on Saturday near McDowell and north Hawes roads.

Around noon, Scottsdale Fire crewmembers and police responded to a call about a child who was found in a pool. Emergency responders provided life saving measures.

The baby was taken to the hospital and died due to the injuries "resulting from an unintentional drowning," Scottsdale police spokesperson Sgt. Kevin Quon said in an email.

Detectives were investigating the drowning and reported no foul play.

"This extremely unfortunate tragedy is a reminder to always watch children and young persons around any type of water at all times," Quon said.
