2 people hurt after vehicle crashed into bus in Mount Washington Transit Tunnel

Public transportation commuters lost access to the Mount Washington Transit Tunnel after a bus crash.

Two people were taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is unknown.

The Port Authority told Channel 11 that a vehicle rear-ended a bus on Carson Street near the tunnel. The tunnel was closed from around 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Buses and rail cars detoured to the South Hills Junction by traveling through Allentown.

Rail shuttles ran for commuters headed outbound, operating from Station Square which took them to First Avenue. They were then able to board a rail car and were they were taken outbound through Allentown.
