Two people are dead after a shooting in Beaver County; KDKA's Royce Jones reports.
KEN RICE: Breaking news at 5:00, two people are dead after a shooting in Ambridge.
KRISTINE SORENSEN: Now, on the left side of your screen is the scene on Maplewood Avenue. On the right side of your screen, a live look at the Ambridge Police Station, where a press conference is about to start at any moment. We'll go to that as soon as it begins.
Good evening, and welcome to those of you watching on CBSN, Pittsburgh. I'm Kristine Sorensen.
KEN RICE: I'm Ken Rice. And while we await that briefing, let's bring in Royce Jones with what we know so far about what happened there in Ambridge. Royce?
ROYCE JONES: Ken, good evening. Police have been on scene since 1:30 this afternoon. The scene is still active at this very moment. Authorities say two people were shot inside of a home. They're not confirming the address, or giving us any additional information at this time.
But you can see where police are focusing their investigation, working the area on the left side of the street. We've seen police really working that area for the past few hours now. It's wrapped, it's closed off by yellow crime tape.
Neighbors are totally shocked here. We spoke with one witness who rode by on his bike earlier, said he saw a woman on a porch being handcuffed by police. We spoke with another witness [INAUDIBLE] dropping off her son's friend from a sleepover when all of this unfolded.
RACHEL KRUZE: I said, is it safe for us to walk him home? And they said, we have to escort you. And I said, that's fine, but is it safe? What happened? Did something bad happen? And he said, we can't tell you.
ROYCE JONES: And right now we are live along 10th Street, which is where Maplewood Avenue is closed. It's also closed at the end of the block on 8th Street. Again, we are expecting an update from police any moment now. We'll take that live on air and have updates online for you as well. For now, reporting live in Ambridge, Royce Jones, KDKA News.
