2 places close, bugs seen at 8 restaurants in Fort Worth inspections

Two places were closed due to serious health-code violations and bugs were seen at several places in the latest Fort Worth health inspections, according to city data.

There were 155 inspections from Dec. 24 to Jan. 6.

Fort Worth inspection scores are based on a demerit system. When the total demerits exceed 30, the restaurant must take immediate corrective action on all identified critical violations, then has 48 hours to initiate corrective action on all other violations.

East Food Mart at 2740 Sandy Lane received 32 demerits and was closed due to a leak in the washware sink. It was the only restaurant to score over 30 demerits.

Bluebonnet Bakery & Catering Service at 4705 Camp Bowie Blvd. received 27 demerits and was closed due to no hot water. Inspectors observed that sinks were only reaching temperatures between 63 and 66 degrees.

Eleven other restaurants received high demerit scores:

  • Paco’s Mexican Cuisine at 1508 West Magnolia Ave., 30

  • Jack’s Place at 7914 Camp Bowie West Blvd., 29

  • Rotiserria El Limon at 1509 Evans Ave., 29

  • Taste Of Asia at 12584 North Beach St., 29

  • Tacos La Banqueta Cuatro at 2621 Hemphill St., 28

  • Burger Street at 7301 Camp Bowie West Blvd., 27

  • Dimassi’s Mediterranean Buffet at 6357 Camp Bowie Blvd.,, 27

  • Don Pancho Tortilleria & Taqueria at 5159 Wichita St., 26

  • Tang’s Pacific Bistro at 8653 North Beach St., 26

  • Taqueria San Andres at 4412 Hemphill St., 26

  • Taste Of Asia at 12584 North Beach St., 29

Three restaurants had follow-up inspections:

  • Boopa’s Bagel Deli at 6513 North Beach St., 2

  • Dona Carmen Pupuseria at 3075 Mansfield Highway, 15

  • Pacos Mexican Cuisine at 1508 West Magnolia Ave., 18

Roaches were observed at:

  • Fiesta Mexican Foods at 3233 Hemphill St.

  • Waffle House at 9450 White Settlement Rd.

  • Rosa’s Cafe at 3450 Sycamore School Rd.

Flies and gnats were observed at:

  • Cici’s Pizza at 1408 Eastchase Parkway

  • Waffle House at 9450 White Settlement Rd.

  • Wingstop at 3300 Western Center Blvd

  • The Cheesecake Factory at 455 Commerce St.

  • Turkey Den at 1201 Oakland Blvd.

  • Topgolf at 2201 East 4th St.
