Two notable Frankfort Avenue restaurants are moving in together and setting up shop in a single location on... Frankfort Avenue.

Fork & Barrel and Morning Fork are merging into one location, the owners of the restaurants announced Tuesday. The restaurant will start serving customers on Friday at 1722 Frankfort Ave., where Morning Fork currently operates.

The location will offer "all the same food and hospitality" that the two separate restaurants offered, owners Geoffrey Heyde and Emily Heyde said in a statement. Now, though, they'll operate under one roof.

"Since we opened Morning Fork in 2020, we've fallen in love with the space and all the opportunities it offers us,” the pair said in a release.

The two restaurants will continue to operate under the name Morning Fork for breakfast and lunch and under the name Fork & Barrel in the evening, according to the owners. The new location will be open under the name Be The Fork, a reference to the space and both restaurants collectively.

Geoffrey and Emily opened Fork & Barrel, an upscale Southern dinner restaurant, at 1722 Frankfort Ave. in 2017. The couple started serving breakfast several blocks away at Morning Fork in 2020, in a space that used to house the North End Cafe.

The two restaurants will now work out of the same space in Clifton. The owner of the property where Fork & Barrel is located will determine the next steps for that location, Geoffrey Heyde said in an interview.

"It didn't make sense to pay rent for two different locations," he said Tuesday.

The menu will feature the same dishes people love, Heyde said, including filet and salmon. Offerings will be curated around the seasons – restaurant workers are "literally hatching" the spring menu at the moment.

There are not major changes coming to the Be The Fork location, but hours will shift.

Breakfast and lunch will be served Wednesday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., while dinner will be served Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. A bar offering drinks and small plates will also be open from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
