TOLLAND, CT — Two positive coronavirus tests at Tolland High School spiraled into a 22-person quarantine that includes a sports team, according to a letter from Superintendent of Schools Walter Willett.
The letter was sent to parents Sunday.
The quarantines were ordered out of "precaution," Willett said in the letter.
The team was not named in the letter but several parents contacted said it was in the basketball program. In all, 14 athletes were affected, according to the letter.
Those testing positive for the virus within school communities are required to notify their local education systems.
