2 Stillwater Schools Drop Off COVID-19 Outbreak List

STILLWATER, MN — The number of Stillwater schools on the Minnesota Department of Health’s list of facilities with coronavirus outbreaks dropped to its lowest mark in seven weeks, with three schools included Thursday.

Stillwater Area High School, Rutherford Elementary and St. Croix Preparatory Academy were named on the most recent list, while Stillwater Middle School and Stonebridge Elementary were removed.

Two of the three Stillwater schools on the list are in the Stillwater Area Public Schools district.

Several SAPS schools located outside Stillwater were also included on the most recent list of facilities with recent coronavirus outbreaks:

  • Afton-Lakeland Elementary (Lakeland)

  • Andersen Elementary (Bayport)

  • Lake Elmo Elementary (Lake Elmo)

  • Oak-Land Middle School (Lake Elmo)

The COVID-19 data dashboard for Stillwater Area Public Schools shows there have been 1,294 coronavirus cases among staff and students this academic year, with more than 43 percent of those cases recorded since the start of winter break.

District officials reported 336 new cases from Jan. 7-13, the dashboard shows,

The Minnesota Department of Health's most recent list of facilities with coronavirus outbreaks included 26 Washington County schools, 18 less than last week. Thursday's list included 444 schools throughout Minnesota, 244 less than last week.
