2 students arrested after police find gun at Las Vegas-area high school

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Two students were arrested after Clark County School District police found a gun at a Las Vegas valley high school campus.

It happened on Wednesday at Ed W. Clark High School, according to a letter sent out to families by the principal.

The letter stated that no threats were made to the campus.

The weapon was turned over to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department ATF task force for testing. The students are expected to face gun-related charges, according to CCSD police.

Police are also asking parents to safely store and lock up firearms, and, if stolen, report them as soon as possible.

The incident marks the 39th gun CCSDPD seized this school year. During the 2022-2023 school year CCSDPD confiscated 49 guns.
