1 injured, U.S. 35 reopens in Dayton after rollover crash Monday morning

Two vehicles were involved in a rollover crash on U.S. Route 35 in Dayton late Monday morning.

Dayton Police, Fire, and EMS were called to U.S. 35 eastbound near Liscum Drive at around 9:40 a.m. after receiving reports of a multi-vehicle crash, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch confirmed to News Center 7.

Two vehicles were confirmed to be “on their tops” with one on the highway and the other in a tree after the crash, dispatchers said.

One person was trapped inside their vehicle and had to be extricated, according to dispatch records. They suffered a shoulder injury and were transported by medics to a local hospital. The condition of the driver, and the hospital they were taken to, wasn’t immediately known.

Officers shut down U.S. Route 35 westbound from South Gettysburg Avenue, according to traffic cameras from Ohio Department of Transportation. Lanes reopened at around 11 a.m.

Dayton Police are leading the investigation into the crash.
