2 women arrested nearly 3 years after home robbery, murder investigation in Boulder City

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Two women from California have been arrested after a nearly three-year murder and robbery investigation of a woman in Boulder City, according to police.

The crime was described by police as a “follow-home robbery” which happened in October 2021 when a Boulder City resident was followed home from Las Vegas to Boulder City, where the suspects robbed her purse.

During the robbery, police said the female victim fell to the ground and had severe head injuries. She later died in December 2021 from the injuries sustained during the robbery, according to Boulder City Police.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide and a murder investigation then started.

During the nearly three-year investigation detectives served numerous search warrants which ultimately led to the identification of two suspects, both residents of Antioch, California, according to Boulder City Police. Open murder warrants for the arrests of both suspects were obtained in February.

On March 18, Angela Marie Crawford was arrested by the Portland Police Bureau in Oregon. As of Thursday, Crawford was being held in Multnomah County Detention Center on a Nevada murder warrant and as of Thursday was awaiting extradition.

On March 19, Amoni Z. Ponnell-Fountain was arrested in Contra Costa County, California by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. She was extradited from Contra Costa County, California to Las Vegas, Nevada on March 30th.
