20,000 more Ukrainian troops to be trained in the UK in 2023
Canada, Danmark, Finnland, Sweden, Lithuania, the Netherlands and New Zealand have already pitched in (to help train Ukrainian soldiers), he said.
A group of Australian military trainers will also participate in this effort, Wallace said.
The minister said Ukraine needs support not only for defense, but also for pushing Russian invaders out of its territory.

"In 2023 the international community will not let Russia wait us out while inflicting terrible suffering on Ukrainian civilians,” Wallace said.
“The international community recognises that equipping Ukraine to push Russia out of its territory is as important as equipping them to defend what they already have.”
Wallace added that Russian actions have solidified international determination to help Kyiv.
"At its heart it is about helping Ukraine defend itself, upholding international law and restoring (Ukraine’s) sovereignty," the UK defense minister said.

The UK has taken the lead in training the Ukrainian military. About 6,000 of Ukrainian recruits have already completed military training in the country so as to be more effective in their fight against Russian occupying forces.

The United States has also expanded its military training program for Ukrainians to a military base in Germany.
Another 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers will be trained within the European Union Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM), which was launched by the EU in support of Ukraine.
The EUMAM training will take place mostly in Poland.
