There are so many movies on Netflix, it becomes easy to let the service’s homepage guide you to whatever origins or random licenses the algorithm thinks you might enjoy (or to just re-watch every episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt again). At the same time, Netflix isn’t always a reliable source of great movies from throughout the history of the medium, especially if you’re interested in movies outside of the past five years.
