20-year-old Kissimmee man dies in 3-vehicle crash on Davenport Boulevard

DAVENPORT— A 20-year-old Kissimmee man died in a three-vehicle crash on Davenport boulevard on Friday.

Polk County Sheriff's Office officials said the Emergency Communications Center received a call about the at 10th Street North about 3:10 p.m. Davenport police, Davenport Fire Department, Haines City police, PCSO and Polk County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the scene.

When emergency personnel arrived, Jose R. Perez Marcano of Kissimmee was found dead in his 2000 blue Honda Civic. His passenger, Naomi Perez, 18, of Kissimmee was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Based on evidence, the Sheriff's Office said Robert Drumtra, 80, of Haines City was driving north on 10th Street in a gray 2021 Hyundai Sonata while Perez Marcano was heading east on Davenport Boulevard approaching the intersection.

As Perez Marcano began to pass 10th Street North, officials said the Drumtra made a left turn onto Davenport Boulevard westbound.

The cars crashed, causing the Perez Marcano to spin into the westbound lane and into the path of a 2018 burgundy Honda CR5 driven by Ginellie Ginel, 31, of Davenport.

The front of the Ginel's car hit Perez Marcano's Civic on the driver door.

Drumtra and Ginel suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital. Davenport Boulevard was closed in both directions for four hours during the investigation.
