20-plus new restaurants open around Sacramento. Here’s where to find your next meal

June brought 22 new restaurants around Sacramento, with the majority of them opening in communities surrounding the capital city.

Only six restaurants opened within Sacramento city limits. The rest debuted in Roseville (four new restaurants), Davis and Placerville (three), El Dorado Hills (two) and Antelope, Elk Grove, West Sacramento, Rocklin and Auburn (one apiece).

Adoboink (1450 Lead Hill Blvd., Suite 140, Roseville): Ramses and Maylani Monterola started their Filipino catering company, best known for its “Oompa Lumpia” cups, in 2018 and opened their first brick-and-mortar Adoboink on June 21.

Bull N’ Mouth (217 E St., Davis): Burgers and beer are the main draw at this new downtown Davis restaurant, such as the “Down the Hatch” half-pound patty topped with pepper jack cheese, green chilis, bacon and a house sauce.

Cajun & Sushi House (2921 Elverta Road, Antelope): Seasoned bags of crab legs share table space with bento boxes and sashimi at Cajun & Sushi House, which opened on June 9.

Cookie Plug (4720 Elk Grove Blvd., No. 130, Elk Grove): This cookie chain brought flavors such as purple velvet, chocolate chip walnut and marshmallow-filled s’mores to Elk Grove after making its market debut in Fair Oaks last year.

Everest Chilli Pepper (214 Harding Blvd., Roseville): Indo-Chinese and Nepalese foods such as okra masala, paneer chow mein and steamed lamb momos take center stage at Harding Plaza’s new restaurant.

Falafel Corner (720 2nd St., Davis): Sajad Shakoor’s 18th Sacramento-area Falafel Corner follows the same script as the others: accessible Middle Eastern bites such as halal beef burgers, gyro platters and chicken rice bowls.

Geartooth Alewerks (7553 Green Valley Road, Placerville): Placerville’s newest brewery and barbecue joint specializes in “trisket” (slow-smoked tri-tip that tastes similar to brisket), baby back ribs and bratwurst braised in a house IPA.
