According to police, the buses were vandalized at a district bus storage and maintenance facility, located at 220 Adler Drive, between 5:30 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Monday.
- It's going to cost at least $40,000 to get many of these buses back on the road. Someone stole the catalytic converters out of almost 20 of them. Drivers discovered the thefts this morning when their engine sounded strange. The superintendent says besides the money, the toughest part is telling families the school can't help their kids get to class.
JEFF CRAIG: It wasn't like somebody made a bad decision and ran off the road, or we didn't pay our insurance, or we didn't pay our gas bill. There was something-- was a negative piece that negatively impacted a lot of kids.
- Police are looking at surveillance video to help find the suspect.
