Y soy Rebelde!
As a band, RBD originated from the Mexican soap opera Rebelde, which is to this day of the most popular TV series of all time. Not only was Rebelde massively popular in Mexico, but it also became a huge franchise around the world and yielded several international versions of the show.
After the Tour del Adiós (“The Goodbye Tour”) in 2008, RBD went on an indefinite hiatus that lasted up until 2023. Thankfully, five of the six original members – Anahí, Maite Perroni, Dulce María, Christopher von Uckermann, and Christian Chávez – have gotten together for a reunion tour that is already a huge success. It is also exciting to now see Chávez being his authentic self within the band given that he’s come out as gay in the years that followed the end of RBD.
Altogether, the Soy Rebelde Tour (“I’m a Rebel Tour”) has 54 scheduled concerts across North and South America. The tour was kicked off in El Paso, Texas on August 25 and will run through Ciudad de México, Mexico on December 21 as the final scheduled date.
