Adidas' new fabric face masks are designed for comfort

As COVID-19 continues to shape our everyday lives, more and more retailers are putting its business to good use by creating fabric face masks for the masses. The latest brand that is trying to flatten the curve is athletic brand Adidas.
As a reminder, the CDC, or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is still recommending that people wear face masks in public where it’s not possible to maintain six feet of separation. Since many people could have the virus and be asymptomatic, these masks are extremely important as their use can “slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.”
Rightfully, consumers most likely associate the Adidas brand with its iconic black-and-white stripe motif on everything from sneakers to tracksuits, and the brand’s new face coverings fall right in line with that aesthetic. Available in both large (the large size should fit most adults) and small sizes, these face masks are made of flexible, recycled material.

Sold in packs of three, both the large and small sizes retail for $16 and are reusable. The company recommends tossing your masks in your washing machine, washing them with hot water and then drying them with low heat. But since they are made with two layers of fabric, they are sure to remain very soft and breathable.
Adidas’ masks may become our new favorites (see our complete face mask roundup for more options) thanks to their snug fit. While most face masks leave a bit of a gap on the nose and by the ears, these masks easily stretch to fit and contour to your face shape.

The brand is also adding a charitable component to their face masks so you can feel even better about your purchase. According to the site, $2 from every pack sold will go to Save the Children’s Global Coronavirus Response Fund.
And as with practically all fabric face masks, it’s important to remember that “this covering will not provide protection to you or others from spreading viruses. Worn over your mouth and nose, it can limit the spread of droplets.”
