Wrestler of the Year

Josh Harkless, Wilson

One move and one week separated Wilson's Josh Harkless from high school wrestling's ultimate prize.

Harkless earned a PIAA Class 3A silver medal at 215 pounds, losing to Cumberland Valley's Jake Lucas 3-1 in overtime in the state final. Lucas, who scored a takedown in overtime to win the state title, defeated Harkless two weeks earlier in the District 3 Class 3A championship match. In between, Harkless defeated Lucas to win the West Super Regional title.

Harkless went undefeated during the regular season to help Wilson win its second Berks championship in three years. He finished the season with a 29-2 record and went 98-19 during his career.
