2020 Adopt-A-Family Holiday Gift Campaign Launches In Cornelius

CORNELIUS, NC — The holidays are approaching and the Cornelius Police Department is launching its annual program aimed at making sure others less fortunate in the community have little cheer.

The Cornelius Police Department is seeking individuals to sponsor its holiday Adopt-A-Family gift program. The deadline for registering as a sponsor is Friday, Nov. 27.

Here's what the Town of Cornelius says about the program:

"Cornelius PD will provide you with a wish list from a family in the coming weeks. We recommend 3 gifts per child, with a maximum dollar amount of $40.00 per item. We ask that you please follow this rule to keep it the same for all the families and sponsors. Please consider at least 1 clothing item and 2 items from the wish list.

"Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 this year delivery to the families will be different. We ask that all sponsors please bring your gifts to the Police Department by Wednesday, December 16. All gifts MUST be wrapped and labeled with your family’s code before bringing them to the Police Department.
