  • Mark Reuss announced that the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 will start at under $60,000 when it goes on sale late this year.

  • That will make the C8 just a few thousand dollars more than the base price of the current C7 model.

  • The new C8 is faster, more advanced, and more luxurious than the car it replaces.

During the launch event of the all-new Chevy Corvette earlier tonight, Mark Reuss announced that the mid-engined supercar will start at less than $60,000 when it goes on sale in late 2019. We expect that means the C8 will have a starting price at $59,995 before any destination or other required charges, meaning it will really be a bit over the $60K mark once the dotted lines are signed.

Still, that's a hell of a deal, as the current C7 car starts at $56,995 including its $1095 destination charge. Beyond just the placement of the engine, the new C8 is a huge step up from the C7, with more power, a sub-three-second zero-t0-60 time, a much more luxurious interior, and a lot more standard and available features.

Alongside the reveal of the car, Chevy has launched a new online reservation program for prospective owners to configure, reserve, and order their C8s; dealers are also now taking orders for the car.
