2020 trial date set for for R.Kelly, sisters seek 'justice'

Lisa Kelly, the sister of singer R. Kelly, is hoping her brother is freed pending his trial. "I'm hoping that he gets freed. I'm hoping that justice is served."

A federal court judge has set a trial date of April 27, 2020 in Chicago.

Sister Cassandra Kelly also wants to see her brother freed. "Yes, I agree with Lisa. I'm just hoping that he gets freed, justice is served, fairness is done."

R. Kelly's attorney confirmed the the one-time hip hop star has been moved from solitary confinement to the general prison population.

His sister Lisa said Wednesday, "He's being brave, he's holding up, thank God for that. He has faith that everything will work out the way it should under the circimstances. I'm surprised he's still standing because of so much coming at him but he does have family that supports him."
