Aside from co-hosting the 57th Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards alongside Dolly Parton and Jimmie Allen, Gabby Barrett performed a cover of a song almost as old as she is: Lee Ann Womack's 2000-released classic, "I Hope You Dance."

The youngest ACM Awards host in history said before the show she was "excited" to perform Womack's iconic No. 1 smash as it was "one of her favorite songs." She continued, "I also performed it while competing on American Idol, so it's a full-circle moment coming back to the song [to perform it] as an artist and host on the ACM Awards."

Aside from hosting the event, Barrett was nominated for Female Artist of the Year. This followed her 2021 victory for New Female Artist of the Year.

When asked about the next steps in her career, the artist both being a parent to a 14-month old daughter (alongside husband Cade Foehner) and a top-selling country superstar was called into question. Given Barrett's 22 years of age, it's an impressive weight to balance.

"My daughter's a good baby who sleeps as well in a tour bus as she does at home," she says, which is important given that the "I Hope" singer is slated to spend the summer opening for Jason Aldean.
